Nous utilisons parfois des sigles mystérieux pour communiquer entre nous : tu pourras trouver leur explication sur la page jargon. Si tu viens d’un autre projet Wikimédia, n’oublie pas de mettre les liens vers tes autres pages perso. Tu peux utiliser ta page personnelle pour te présenter, et demander à te faire parrainer si tu le souhaites. Majuscules

I'm sorry, I'm just beginning learning French, but I think you ask for a reference that Scottish Gaelic names of days of week begin with a capital letter. The above are links to Gaelic Orthographic Convention in English and the most extensive modern dictionary. Also, I never saw them written with lower case initials. By the way, out of curiosity, what's the meaning of An/Am? And instead of creating a new page, you can rename an old one. The "rename" menu is on the right, near "Afficher l'historique", after the star wich adds the page to your list of interesting pages. --Pjacquot 14 septembre 2010 à 17:14 (UTC)

An/Am have several senses in Gaelic, but here they were articles, so am Faoilleach = the January &c. It's true that the names of months are usually used with the article, but the Gaelic article is a funny thing - there are only definite articles, on the other hand they not only take various forms according to gender, number and case, but they also amalgamate with certain prepositions: "from August" is etymologically "bho an Lùnastal" but this is amalgamated to "bhon Lùnastal".

Oh, I guess I subconsciously knew the "rename" button was there all along, but somehow I never used it and it didn't occur to me I could - yes, that would be a more elegant way to get rid of the articles, thanks for the tip. --Thrissel 14 septembre 2010 à 17:30 (UTC)
