Étymologie
[modifier le wikicode]- Dérivé de Painter, avec le suffixe -ite : It was found upon the farm of Mr. James Painter, whence Mr. Jefferis named it provisionally "painterite," a name which seems also to have been applied to a peculiar brownish, waxy, feldspathic matrix in which the broad golden laminse were imbedded. — (ON THE CONSTITUTION OF CERTAIN MICAS, VERMICULITES, AND CHLORITES)
