Welcome and Orientation

María Cruz introduce the conference, and indicate targeted issues.

The question "what does it meant to learn" is raised. An indication is provided that there will be a focus on:

affiliates and collaboration with institutions;
measure outcomes & tools to achieve measurable evolutions.

Each participant will provide feedback on each session around three poles:

liked the best in the session
would suggest for next time
will do diffently in the next 30 day based on this session

The session then focused on woman leadership, starting with a brief history of leadership in the wikimedia movement. The announced goal on this topic is to support leaders to help them make efficienc actions. 300 people were identified as leader and integrated into this process.

Although there is still large place for improvement, some women already reported that they felt the wikimedia movement as a more welcoming place than most work places or other places with a male predominance.

Still, our projects should be more welcoming, with more room for multiple trial and fail, and more guidance on the road toward qualitative contributions.

How to bring and preserve more female contributor remains an open challenge.

A pair working was then launched, during which misc. related projects where evoked, like:

Art+Feminism User Group
Wikiwomen Taiwan which organize monthly events

Some current state of affair were highlighted like:

fewer women board members
there is no clear path to leadership
online and offline leadship are significently differents

Some evocated chalanges where:

underestimating scope of work
friendly environment
distribution of power

In conclusion this session was a good incentive to learn more on the topic of women in the wikimedia community.
