English: 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 (Mark I) Drophead Coupé by Graber at Autosports Designs in Huntington, NY (Long Island). In 1954, bare chassis number LML/562 was sent to Graber in Wichtrach, Switzerland for custom bodywork. Distinct from its Tickford-built counterparts, the Graber features many of the typical Aston Martin traits in a cleaner overall shape. The car was ordered by A.N. Norrish, Esq. of Genova-Quarto, Italy. Graber’s techniques differed from those in the UK. For instance, the entire front end was from aluminum while everything behind the front windshield is steel. This allowed the body to be welded directly to the frame. Doors and posts were supported by wooden oak framing.

The car received Bosch switches, Smiths instruments, Marchal lights, Dunlop tires, and Armstrong shock absorbers. The DB2/4’s four-speed manual and 125bhp inline-six remained. Work on the car was completed in May of 1955 and it was then sold through the Stierli Garage in Zürich. After spending considerable time in Switzerland, the car was put in long term storage in Basel. There it stayed until 2007 when it was sold to Los Angeles. It received a comprehensive restoration by Kevin Kay Restorations in Redding, CA, soon thereafter. 1000 hours along were spent on the bodywork which was finished in Dove Grey with dark blue leather interior.

Upon completion the car debuted at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and placed third in the Post-War Sports & Touring class. It then sold for $715,000 at the Pebble Beach Gooding & Company auction the following year. 15,000 miles from new.
