Étymologie
[modifier le wikicode]- (Début du XVe siècle)[1] Du moyen anglais prōnunciāciǒun[2], de l’ancien français prononciacïon, du latin pronuntiationem, accusatif singulier de prōnūntiātiō (« déclaration, annonce publique »)[1], de prōnūntiāre (« prononcer, annoncer ») avec le suffixe -iō. Le « ꝓ » est une abréviation médiévale pour « pro- » et le tilde sur le « u » est une abréviation pour le « n ».
